In the heart of Central Macedonia, in Rizari, Edessa, Voras operates a fully organized and vertically integrated meat processing plant, designed to meet the high demands of the modern market.

The facility spans a privately owned area of 33,000 square meters, featuring modern production areas, advanced refrigeration systems, and state-of-the-art equipment that ensures consistency, safety, and complete traceability at every stage of the process.

Through continuous investment in modernization and technology, Voras has transformed traditional meat processing into a fully controlled industrial process that guarantees quality and reliability in every product.

Production & Packaging Lines

Vora’s facilities are equipped with the latest processing and packaging lines, ensuring consistent quality, hygiene, and uniformity in every product.

Auto-Cleaning: We perform a thorough cleaning of the stomachs and feet, ensuring excellent hygiene without chemical residues. The process preserves the product’s natural white color and completely removes unwanted odors.

Standardization & Sorting: At stainless-steel workstations, specialized staff perform the final cleaning, selection, and sorting of the products based on weight and size. This ensures that every order is delivered with absolute uniformity and consistent quality.

Vacuum Packaging: Packaging is carried out using modern vacuum machines, which protect the product from oxidation and help extend its shelf life, preserving its quality characteristics.

To enhance our packaging capabilities, we have integrated a new, fully automated line for packaging products in trays, enabling us to offer “retail-ready” solutions.

Refrigeration Management & Rapid Freezing

Maintaining the quality of frozen meat depends largely on the speed and consistency of the freezing process. At Vora’s facilities, state-of-the-art refrigeration solutions are implemented to ensure complete temperature control at all stages of storage and handling.

Blast Freezing: The deep-freeze units operate at temperatures of -35°C and allow for rapid freezing of products. This process preserves nutrients, limits the formation of large ice crystals, and helps maintain the product’s natural texture after thawing.

Freezing & Storage Chambers: The facilities feature large-capacity chambers at -18°C, designed for safe and stable product storage. Temperature is continuously monitored via electronic control and alarm systems, ensuring full compliance with food safety standards.

Controlled Loading Ramps: The enclosed loading ramps connect directly to refrigerated trucks, allowing products to be transferred without interrupting the cold chain. This ensures that the temperature remains constant throughout the loading and distribution process.

Health, Safety & Certifications

For Voras, quality is measurable, and food safety is a non-negotiable priority.

The plant’s operations are based on strict food safety management systems in accordance with HACCP and ISO 22000 standards, while the facilities are designed with clearly separated production zones (Dirty / Clean Zones) to prevent potential contamination.

In-House Chemical Laboratory & Laboratory Tests

The company has a fully equipped internal laboratory where daily sampling of products, work surfaces, and equipment is conducted.

Continuous monitoring ensures compliance with the highest hygiene standards at every stage of production.

Industrial Equipment Sterilization

To prevent cross-contamination, equipment cleaning and sterilization procedures are implemented using UV lamps, hot water, a box washer, and a washer-dryer for clothing.

Truck Disinfection Station

For us, biosecurity begins even before a vehicle enters our facilities. We have our own dedicated cleaning and disinfection station for heavy-duty vehicles.

The process begins with a thorough exterior cleaning using high-pressure water jets to remove organic matter.

Every truck, whether from our own fleet or a partner’s, is accompanied by the corresponding Cleaning Record, ensuring that the product travels in an environment free of pathogenic microorganisms.

We have installed an extensive network of solar panels, meeting a significant portion of the high energy demands of our cold storage rooms and production lines with "clean" energy

Water and By-Product Management

The facility is equipped with an advanced biological wastewater treatment system, while animal fat and bone residues are processed using certified inactivation procedures.
